Mission
To advocate for, lead, and serve our members in their efforts to develop, and sustain, high quality health services for Vermonters.
The Purposes of the Association
- To assist our members to improve the health status of Vermonters.
- To work with our members to improve the delivery of health care to Vermonters.
- To influence the political, economic, social, and regulatory environment in ways which support the rational delivery of health care services to Vermonters.
- To support coordination of our members’ health care services with other health or social service organizations.
About VAHHS
VAHHS is member-owned organization devoted to improving the health status of communities throughout Vermont to supporting the missions of all Vermont hospitals and health systems and to foster the development of integrated health care delivery systems.
Our activities range from working with the Legislature in Montpelier and Congress in Washington, D.C. to working in partnerships with dozens of Vermont health care organizations, to providing educational and research services for members and non-members alike. We also work with many organizations which develop and advise on health policy such as the Vermont Ethics Network and the Vermont Program for Quality Health Care, Inc.
Governance at VAHHS consists of a Board of Trustees comprised of the CEOs of all the member institutions as well as four hospital and health system trustees, and the President of VAHHS. Located at 148 Main Street Montpelier, VT, VAHHS has a staff of nine.
