Responsible for instruction in the Nurse Aid Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP), and for the provision of education programming which promotes and enhances the professional standards of clinical and support services; principal area of focus will be the continuing education of Licensed Nursing Assistants across the corporation. Unencumbered current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Vermont or eligibility to apply for licensure; clinical experience in a long term care setting preferred; teaching experience in adult education desirable, preferably in an OBRA compliant NATCEP program.

Southwestern VT Health Care, Physician Assistant, Emergency Department. Per Diem, Rotating Shifts. Will be a full member of the emergency team; will focus on the Urgent Care Tract, but will flex to other parts of the Dept. as needed; will work closely with the attending physician to provide the highest quality of medical care to our patients; will work as a member of the Emergency Dept. team to improve the efficiency & operation of the Dept. in order to enhance patient satisfaction, reduce wait times, & provide the appropriate level of care; takes & performs medical histories, & performs physical examinations; assesses patients' medical/surgical conditions; administers treatments under physician orders & per established protocols; advises & counsels patients or legal guardians in regards to patient problems; assists physician as directed. Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology; currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Vermont; ARRT eligible; thorough knowledge of radiation safety.

Southwestern VT Medical Center, Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Perioperative Services. (2) FT or Per Diem, as scheduled. The CRNA practice according to their expertise, state statutes or regulations, and institutional policies. CRNA's administrator anesthesia and anesthesia related care in four general categories: (1) pre-anesthesia preparation and evaluation, (2) Anesthesia induction maintenance and emergencies, (3) post-anesthesia care, and (4) clinical support functions. Graduate from an approved school of nursing & hold current state licensure as an RN; graduate from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor; successfully complete the certification examination administered by the AANA council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists or its predecessor; Comply with criteria for biennial recertification, as defined by the AANA Council on Recertification on Nurse Anesthetists. These criteria include evidence of (a) current licensure as an RN, (b) active practice as a CRNA, (c) appropriate continuing education and (d) verification of the absence of mental, physical, or other problems which could interfere with the practice of anesthesia.

Southwestern VT Medical Center, RN, Circle of Care Team Facilitator. Temporary up to one year; FT, Primarily Days. Nursing Team Facilitator is a temporary position up to one year; at which time, there will be an evaluation to determine if the position should be permanent; will be responsible and accountable 24 hrs./7 days a week for implementing evidence based practice standards and the Circle of Care Approach for the surgical patient, patients with total joint replacement and patients with adult respiratory disease; will mentor, lead, coach and develop the nursing staff to achieve the goals of the Circle of Care. Graduate of an approved school of Nursing; current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of VT; achievement of at least CN3 level required in employee of SVMC; Bachelor degree in nursing or related field or matriculation in a baccalaureate program required; 3 yrs. medical/surgical nursing required; ability to lead, motivate, coach and educate other nurses and clinicians; ability to develop and maintain good professional relationship with physicians; strong facilitation, communication, and coordination skills; willingness to serve as a resource to all subsidiaries and services.

Southwestern VT Medical Center, Speech Language Pathologist, Rehabilitation. Per Diem, Days & weekends(not regularly scheduled) 10-20 hrs per week. Evaluates, develops, and carries out a plan of treatment in consultation with a referring MD; provides for a continuum of services, including prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, treatment of patients regarding speech, language, oral and pharyngeal sensorimotor function and hearing; possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of the patients served by the service. Graduate of an approved school of Speech Language Pathology; holds Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology; possesses certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or is actively enrolled in clinical fellowship year with supervision by American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) approved mentor; current certification by ASHA; one year of SLP experience preferable; experience in videoflouroscopy strongly desirable.

Southwestern VT Medical Cntr, Laboratory, Medical Technologist/MLT.  Full Time Evening/Night Rotation, 3:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. M-F,  some nights and weekends. Performs analytical testing on body fluids and other clinical specimens that assists physician in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Performs testing accurately and in timely manner following written procedures and quality control policies. Trains other lab personnel to follow correct procedures and policies. Communicates effectively with both lab staff and lab customers.  Medical Lab Technician or Medical Technologist (ASCP) or equivalent registry. Examples of equivalent technician certification would be HEW, NCA, ASMT, Canadian Registry, and State of CA. Board eligible technician or technologist may be hired on condition that their registry exam be successfully passed.

FT, days.  Coordination of the Pre admission teaching program; he/she must work with all physicians, office staff, peers, and perioperative leadership to achieve an organized surgical preparation for all patients; he/she must demonstrate strong skills in communication, nursing assessment and patient/family teaching; he/she must be flexible and willing to cross train within services to meet changing demands. Graduate of an approved school of nursing; BSN, masters preferred; currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of VT; knowledge of state nurse practice act; required specialized knowledge and skills for meeting the biophysical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of a holistic being; must have a minimum of 5 years Med/Surg experience; coronary care course with experience in EKG interpretation.
