Letter of Support for Loan Repayment Legislation
(House Bill 180 and Senate Bill 116)

Dear Representative or Senator ………

There are two proposals in the legislature addressing educational loan repayment for nurses who make a commitment to work in Vermont following graduation. These two bills are H. 180 and S. 116. I am asking for your support in getting this critical legislation passed this year. It is important to health care workers and patients who use health care services in Vermont.

In addition to support of these two pieces of legislation, I would recommend that the bills under consideration be expanded to include LPN students as well as RN students. These bills currently apply to only RN students.

Thank you for your consideration and support to insure that the health care needs of Vermonters will continue to be met in the future.
